We come from different backgrounds, from all the different states,
To learn and do medicine, we had all the best grades,
But is knowledge all we need, to come to a patients’ aid?
So listen to this story, a friend of mine once said

One day I met a doctor, who was in such poor health,
There was nothing I can do for him, he can’t do for himself,
He said “Oh yes, you can, just hold my hand, that would really help”
So I sat with him awhile and then I asked him how he felt

He said “I think I’m cured. No, in fact I’m sure”
“Oh thank you stranger, for asking, and for being here”
“Your smile and your company, has made me feel much better”
“Than any pills or creams I could prescribe, has ever”

That’s how I learned my lesson, that we are all alone,
At night when there’s no SMSes received on our phone,
As we read our textbooks whilst sitting on our thrones,
Asking is there someone out there or are we on our own,

So never forget the power of a smile,
Be it to an adult or to a little child,
It’s probably better than a thousand words you say,
Such a simple thing can make someone’s day!
